Name Tracing Worksheet Maker
Type your child's name and print a page made just for them: their name in dotted letters to trace, a green dot where each letter starts, and two rows to write it on their own.
The name stays on your device. The page is made right here in your browser — the name is never sent to us or saved anywhere.
How to use it
- Trace the first row together. Put your hand over theirs and say each letter as you go.
- Start at the green dot. Letters go top to bottom and left to right — the dots show where.
- Then the dotted rows alone, a different crayon for each one.
- Last, the empty rows. It will be wobbly, and that is exactly right.
Ready for the whole alphabet?
Writing their name is where most children start. Our books carry on from here, one page at a time.
Questions parents ask
- Is it really free?
- Yes. Make as many pages as you like, for as many children as you have. No email needed.
- Do you keep my child’s name?
- No. The page is made in your own browser. The name is never sent to us, never stored, never seen by anyone but you.
- Capital letters or lowercase?
- Most kindergartens teach a capital first letter followed by lowercase — “Maya”, not “MAYA”. All capitals can be easier for a three-year-old to start with.
- How often should we practice?
- A few minutes, a few times a week. Trace one or two rows, then try a row alone. Stop while it is still fun.
